The car began restoration and was completely disassembled to thetub and stripped to bare metal. The car went through the metalprocess and received panel replacement as necessary and all gapswere set to factory tolerances. Upon completion in metal, the carwas placed in heavy primer, meticulously prepped, and refinished inits correct original shade of Burgundy. The car was then thoroughlycolor sanded to eliminate orange peel and any light imperfectionsand began assemblyAssembly on this 911S appears to have been meticulous, factoryhardware throughout reflects correct plating and surface finishes.The cars window frames were thoroughly sanded to remove allimperfections, polished, and dipped to reproduce a correct factoryanodized finish. Exterior components were replaced with new partsas necessary including corner lenses, horn grills, and so on. Thematching-numbers engine was completely overhauled and built tostock 2.0L 911S specifications. The matching numbers gearbox wasfully overhauled to include new gear sets and synchros. The carwears Italian specification European trim throughout.The undercarriage of this 911S is stunning. Fresh undercoatingfinished in black with fully overhauled suspension components withcorrect surface finishes. Restored OE hardware with correct platingand fully restored brake calipers, dust shields, and all-newbushings make for an undercarriage that you could nearly eat offof.The interior was refinished in Tan leatherette with cord seatinserts. The gauges were completely overhauled with new faces,pointers, and glass. The fit and finish of the interior are verytidy with nice attention to detail on small items such as therestored heater controls. The car wears a correct "diamond"perforated headliner, a new set of door pockets, a new dash, and acorrect carpet kit to round out the interior.This 911S presents today as a nearly as-new example that is readyfor back canyon roads or the PCA Concours lawn with its next owner.If you are in the market for a fully sorted, restoration-grade 911that will need nothing more than a turn of the ignition key when itarrives, this is a must-consider 911S.
